Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema corona infected
Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema has been found infected with Corona. The club has confirmed on its official website that the 33-year-old striker has joined Real Madrid’s long list of players who have been infected with Corona. The list includes former club captain Sergio Ramos, former coach Zinedine Zidane and club president Florentino Perez as well as Rafael Varane, Nacho Fernandez, Eden Hazard and Dani Carvajal.
Benzema is currently on leave in Lyon, France, after attending the European Championships this summer and will not be able to return to Spain until he completes his quarantine and tests negative. He is thus expected to be unavailable for the opening matches of the new La Liga season with Real Madrid on 14 August.
