Himachal Pradesh / Solan : Dr. Saijal urged to be helpful in saving future generations by saving nature
Ex-servicemen honored in Mahog
Health and Family Welfare and AYUSH Minister Dr. Rajiv Saijal said that the increase in green cover can be expected only through public participation in plantation programmes. Dr. Saijal was presiding over the Van Mahotsav and tree plantation program organized by Yuva Morcha Solan Mandal in Mahog, Jhajha, village panchayat of Chail in Kandaghat sub-division of Solan district today. On this occasion, he planted a dandelion tree.
On this occasion, 200 saplings of deodar, daru and persimmon were planted.
On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, the AYUSH Minister paid homage to the soldiers who attained martyrdom on behalf of the grateful people of the state and the people of the district. He urged everyone to always remember the martyrdom of innumerable soldiers who made supreme sacrifice in the interest of the country and move forward on their duty path with alertness and dedication.
The Health Minister said that everyone should follow the history of the heroes who laid down their lives for the country. He said that we can never get rid of the debt of the heroes.
He honored ex-servicemen Naresh, Pradeep, Sunil, Anoop, Ashish, Anil, Mohan Singh Thakur and Amit by wearing Himachali cap and muffler on the occasion. Dr. Saijal said that it is necessary to take the shape of the saplings planted in the plantation program as a healthy tree. He said that the plantation programs being organized year after year can be successful only when there is participation of the people. He said that by taking care of the planted saplings, we can not only help them to grow as a healthy tree, but we can also play a strong role in the direction of environmental protection. He urged the people of the area to ensure the care and protection of the planted saplings so that these plants become helpful in keeping everyone safe in future in the form of trees.
He said that during the tenure of the present government, so far 10 lakh 61 thousand 534 saplings have been planted on about 1259 hectares of land under various schemes in Solan Forest Circle. He said that this year 03 lakh 13 thousand 900 saplings are being planted on 386 hectares of land.
Dr. Saijal said that Mahog region is known for flower production in the state and the country. The climate here is favorable for high quality trees with flowers. He urged to conserve trees and save nature and be helpful in keeping future generations safe.
He listened to the problems of the people on this occasion and instructed the officials to solve them at the earliest.
State BJP executive member Dr. Rajesh Kashyap said on this occasion that the diverse climate of the region is also suitable for tourism. He urged the youth to move towards employment and self-employment by starting quality home stays. President of BJP Mandal Solan Madan Thakur welcomed the chief guest.
