Himachal Pradesh / Solan : IEC University celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas
Like every year, 26 July was celebrated as ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’ in IEC University located at Atal Shiksha Kunj, Kalujhanda. On this day in 1999, the Indian Army successfully repulsed Pakistani Army infiltrators from Indian territories in Kargil. On this occasion, teachers presented their views on topics related to Kargil Vijay Diwas and also gave other presentations.
Prof. (Dr.) Jitendra Singh, Vice Chancellor of IEC University, while saluting the spirit and courage of the Kargil war heroes, talked about learning from their valor. He told that 527 soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces lost their lives during the war. Kargil Vijay Diwas not only marks the beginning of India’s victory, but also pays tribute to the martyred heroes who fought valiantly for the country and laid down their lives to make ‘Operation Vijay’ a success.
Vinod Kumar, Registrar, IEC University said that the Kargil War is a symbol of the valor and discipline of our security forces, which the whole world has seen. At the end of the program, two minutes silence was observed to remember the immortal martyrs of ‘Operation Vijay’. All the rules of social distancing were followed throughout this program. The NCC unit of IEC University also made a commendable contribution in the successful organization of the program.
