Shaw and Suryakumar will go to England as replacements

Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav will travel to England as replacements for the Test series against England next month. Putting an end to all possibilities, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has selected the names of these two players as replacements in place of injured Shubman Gill, Avesh Khan and Washington Sundar. Shubman has already returned home.
The BCCI issued a statement saying, “All-rounder Washington has been injected. However, his recovery is taking longer than expected due to which he has been ruled out of the tour.
Fast bowler Avesh suffered a thumb injury on the first day of the practice match, the statement said. He was taken for X-ray which showed fracture. Experts have been consulted for his injury and he has been ruled out of the England tour.
Opener Shubman suffered a leg injury during the final match of the World Test Championship, the statement said. He is out of the tour and has returned to India. The All India Senior Selection Committee has selected Shaw and Suryakumar as replacements.
The selection panel has moved opener Abhimanyu Easwaran into the main team. The first match of the five-match Test series between India and England will be played in Nottingham on August 4.
