A Mathura police officer, who went to a village in Bharatpur to investigate a dowry case, has been caught red-handed taking a bribe. Sub-Inspector Prempal posted in police station Magorra had gone to Bhusawar in Bharatpur to discuss the dowry case. In a dowry case, the inspector had demanded a bribe in return for extracting the names of the accused and getting them to resign. Dowry case is registered in police station Margara.

Sub-Inspector Prempal of Mathura’s Thana Magorra was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) team of Bharatpur, Rajasthan red-handed on Sunday taking a bribe of 20 thousand. The Mathura Police Inspector had gone to Bharatpur to investigate the dowry case.

During the action many officials including Deputy Superintendent of Anti-Corruption Bureau Bharatpur Parmeshwar Lal were present. Police station in-charge Ranjit Verma told that the Anti-Corruption Bureau Bharatpur has arrested Sub-Inspector Prempal while taking bribe. ACB Bharatpur arrested the red handed police officer while taking 30 thousand rupees. After questioning them, the team took them along. It has been told that Murari Lal Jat, son of Rajveer Singh, resident of Targawan village of Bhusawar police station is working as a police constable in Bhilwara. A case of dowry was registered by the constable’s wife Mithlesh in the police station Magorra. One lakh rupees bribe was demanded from the accused Rajveer by the Sub-Inspector Prempal of Magorra police station for getting the resignation done. 10 thousand rupees had already been given to Daroga Prempal.

The accused was to pay three installments of Rs. The inspector had reached the accused’s village Targawan to take the first installment of the bribe, where the team of ACB Bharatpur caught hold of him.
