Uttarakhand : High Court reached the matter of the strike of the cleaning workers

The matter of the ongoing indefinite strike by the Safai Karamcharis has reached the High Court. After the strike, a public interest litigation has been filed in the court against the piles of garbage everywhere and no alternative arrangement has been made by the government for its disposal. The court has fixed July 28 for hearing in the matter. The matter was heard in a division bench of Chief Justice RS Chauhan and Justice Alok Kumar Verma. Ramnagar resident advocate Neeraj Joshi has filed a public interest litigation in the court. It has been said in the petition that the sanitation workers of the state are on an indefinite strike since July 19 for their 11-point demands. In such a situation, there are heaps of garbage in every city of the state, but no alternative arrangement has been made by the government to remove this garbage. There is a possibility of bad effect on the health of the people due to the accumulation of garbage. At the same time, the environment is also being harmed. At present, due to the rainy season, there is also a possibility of spreading the epidemic. The petitioner says that the government should either make an agreement with the sanitation workers or make some alternative arrangement for garbage collection. Because it is the fundamental duty of the government to give a clean environment to the citizens. Said the Safai Karamcharis who are not on strike, or are not cooperating in the strike. They are being assaulted by the agitating employees. In such a situation, SSP Nainital should be directed that strict legal action should be taken against the concerned. On Monday, advocate Dushyant Mainali argued in the court. The court has fixed July 28 for the next hearing in the matter.
