Dehradun. Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami paid homage to the Kargil martyrs by laying a wreath at the Martyrs Memorial on the occasion of Shaurya Diwas at Gandhi Park, Dehradun. The Chief Minister, Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the Indian soldiers, in the Kargil war, showed valor in the face of adversity and drove the infiltrators across the border. The nation will always remember the sacrifices made by the brave soldiers to protect the country’s borders in the Kargil war. The Chief Minister said that a large number of sons of Uttarakhand sacrificed their lives for the defense of the country in the Kargil war. The state government is committed to the welfare of soldiers, ex-servicemen and their families. Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami announced on the occasion that the pension of World War II veterans and veterans from Uttarakhand would now be increased from Rs.8,000 to Rs.10,000 per month. About 800 families will get the benefit of this. On passing the written examination of NDA, CDS and its equivalent, on the basis of the financial condition of the family, the candidate will be given financial assistance of 50 thousand rupees for the preparation of the interview. Soon a hostel will be built in Haldwani for the children of soldiers and ex-servicemen. Honor ceremony will be organized in Garhwal and Kumaon divisions in honor of Veer Naris and gallantry award recipients. Military Samman Yatra will be started in the state from September 01. Visited the residence of Shri Devendra Singh Rawat at Kaulagarh and offered flowers to his portrait.
