Complete transparency in the figures of corona infected and dead : Center
Allegations of rigging in data outright denied
The government has termed the media report that there are more deaths and more number of patients than the official figures of Corona in the country. The central government issued a statement on Tuesday saying that it is adopting a completely transparent approach regarding Kovid data management.
The government said that a robust system is in place to compile the data of all the corona infected and dead in the country. All the states and union territories have been given the responsibility to continuously update the number of patients and dead in their states. The system of recording all the deaths due to corona already exists. The Center said that the ICMR’s guide line is being followed to collect the data of Corona in the country. This guide line is based on the recommendations of the ICD-10 codes issued by the World Health Organization (WHO) for accurate data collection. In fact, a recent media report has claimed that the total deaths due to corona in India can be seven to eight times more than the government figures. On this claim, the government clearly said that it is completely wrong. It was claimed in the media report that 27 to 33 lakh people have died in both the waves of corona in India. This report has been prepared on the basis of various data bases.
