Emergency landing of Afghan army helicopter
An IAF Mi-17 helicopter made an emergency landing last night during an operation against Taliban militants in Nad Ali district of Helmand province in Afghanistan.
The Afghan army’s 215 Mywand Corps said in a statement that the helicopter made an emergency landing due to technical difficulties. No one was injured in the incident and the occupants of the helicopter were evacuated. The helicopter was later destroyed.
At least 30 Taliban fighters have been killed in an operation by Afghan forces in the region, the statement said. The Taliban, however, did not comment on the casualties of their fighters in the operation.
