Uttarakhand : Rishikesh-Dharasu highway broken at many places near Chamba

PM Modi’s ambitious project All Weather Road in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand could not even withstand the first rain of the season due to poor construction. The road has been damaged due to landslides at various places. The villagers have demanded an inquiry from the government-administration into the construction work on the highway. Under Rishikesh-Dharasu National Highway-94 near Chamba, about one kilometer long Alvedar road made with Australian technology at a cost of about 86 crores, including a 440 meter long tunnel, whose work has been completed in December 2020, but The road and tunnel have not been inaugurated yet. About 150 meters long road towards the northern end of the first rain tunnel of the rainy season has been damaged due to poor construction work done by BRO and executive body Bharat Construction.
