Roads become river due to rain in Delhi, traffic jam
Incessant rains today brought respite to the people of Delhi from the sultry weather, however, traffic jams continued at major intersections of the city due to waterlogging. The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate intensity thundershowers at many places over the national capital as well as at Gurugram, Manesar, Panipat (Haryana) and adjoining areas during the next 2 hours.
IMD tweeted in the early hours of Tuesday North-West Delhi, Central Delhi, South-Delhi, South-West-Delhi, Gurugram, Manesar, Sohna, Bhiwadi, Bawal, Narnaul, Kosli, Rewari, Nuh, Manesar (Haryana), Tijara, Alwar, Rajgarh, Deeg, Nagar, Khairthal, Mehndipur, Mahwa, Lachmangarh, Nadbai (Rajasthan) and adjoining areas will receive light to moderate rain and thundershowers at many places during next 2 hours.
On the other hand, water logging due to rain has led to traffic jams in many areas of Delhi.
An auto-rickshaw got stuck at Delhi’s Pragati Maidan and Mathura Road and several cars and buses were partially submerged.
A traffic police official said that traffic has been affected in front of WHO building near IP flyover due to waterlogging.
