At the same time, on Tuesday late evening, there was an outcry due to cloudburst near Chashouti village, 25 km from Gulabgarh in Kishtwar itself. Due to this, the boat coming from Machail came on a boom in the drain. Suddenly the flow of water kept carrying away everything on the way. One by one, four bridges went on flowing in this boom.
First of all, when the water hit the bridge in Kundel village, there was a stir among the people. After that the bridge built on Sanyas village near Chashoti on Botnala got washed away. Soon the bridges on the drain in Sayogi and Padivag were also washed away. The villagers immediately informed the administrative officials in Gulabgarh and the administration declared a high alert. After this the villages in the Padivag area were evacuated. Other villagers were also instructed to immediately vacate the houses and come to the upper parts of Gulabgarh.
Gulabgarh SDM Varun Jeet Singh Chadak said that no casualty has been reported yet. The entire area has been evacuated. Although the flow of water in the drain was decreasing gradually after midnight, but due to heavy rains in the area, the situation could not be assessed further. According to local sources, the roads were badly damaged due to the strong flow of water. That is why no rescue team has been able to reach Gulabgarh so far. At the same time, the administration is trying its best to provide help to the people.
