Uttarakhand / Vikas Nagar : Madrasa teachers told the problems to the deputy registrar

The Uttarakhand Madrasa Teachers Association on Friday met the newly appointed Deputy Registrar of Madrasa Education Council and demanded an early resolution of the problems. The teachers told that they have not received honorarium under the SPQEM scheme for the last four years. Whereas, an undeclared ban was also imposed on the grant money to madrasas. Madrasa teachers told Deputy Registrar Abdul Yameen that the students are facing problems due to non-equivalence of the mark sheets and certificates of the Madrasa Board with the Uttarakhand Board. Due to this they are worried about their future. He said that modern education is provided to the students in all the madrasas. Madrasas recognized by the Madrasa Board have been covered under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan. Despite this, the students of recognized madrassas have been denied the facility of free uniforms. Free text books have also not been given to the students studying in the madrasas of Vikasnagar block of Pachhwadoon for the last two years, while the list of students was provided to the Deputy Education Officer office on time. Told that madrasa teachers have not received honorarium under SPQEM for four years. Madarsas are not getting the grants, due to which mobilization of resources remains a challenge. The facilities of computers and libraries are provided to the students in madrassas from the school grant itself. The teachers have demanded the Deputy Registrar to resolve all the problems at the earliest. Among those who met Madarsa Teachers Association President Mr. Islam, Mashook Ali, Ishran Ali, Sumit Chauhan, Ahmed Ali etc. were involved.
