Opposition is considering the option of parallel parliament

◾️The final decision will be taken in the meeting of the opposition this morning
◾️Pegasus is preparing to raise the issue of farmers’ movement

The opposition is in the mood for a long fight to put the government on the back foot on issues like Pegasus espionage and peasant movement and to surround the government on these issues. The opposition is also considering the option of running a parallel parliament outside the parliament to trouble the government. The final decision on this will be taken in the meeting of opposition leaders to be held on Tuesday morning.

It is worth noting that on Tuesday, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi has called a meeting of leaders of many opposition parties in the Constitution Club. In this meeting, a strategy will be prepared for the remaining meetings of the monsoon session. TMC sources say that earlier there have been discussions between the opposition on running a parallel parliament. On Tuesday, after discussing this option in detail, a final decision will be taken on it. It is worth noting that this proposal is from TMC.
Every effort is made to put pressure on the government

The TMC source said that in the Pegasus and farmers’ agitation case, the opposition’s effort is to try every trick that puts the government under pressure. If the major opposition parties agree to the proposal to run a parallel parliament, it will not only give a nationwide publicity to the issue, but will also put the government on the back foot due to its dogma on the issue. However, the Congress has not clarified its opinion on the issue. The party feels that the party may be subject to criticism for its decision to run a parallel parliament.

Government will not discuss Pegasus

There is no hope of a middle ground between the government and the opposition in the Pegasus espionage case. In the last two meetings of the Business Advisory Committee, the government made it clear that it would not hold any discussion on the Pegasus issue. On the other hand, the opposition is not ready to go back on the condition of announcing a government inquiry into the matter with Pegasus being discussed at any cost to conduct the proceedings of the House.
