Indian dragon fruit reaches UK and Bahrain
Indian Dragon Fruit- Kamalam has been exported to UK and Bahrain for the first time.
The Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry informed that to boost export of exotic fruits, a consignment of fiber and mineral rich dragon fruit has been sent to UK and Bahrain. It has been procured from farmers of Gujarat and West Bengal.
The consignments of exotic fruits exported to Britain were received from farmers in the Kutch region. The consignment of dragon fruit exported to Bahrain was procured from farmers of West Midnapore (West Bengal).
Earlier in June 2021, a consignment of dragon fruit was exported to Dubai. It was taken from the farmers of Tadasar village in Sangli district of Maharashtra.
