Bayern held Mönchenglbach in a 1-1 draw
Bayern Munich held Borussia Mönchenglbach in a 1–1 draw in their first match of the Bundesliga football season.
Bayern’s team, however, were lucky that the referee did not give a penalty against them in the last moments.
Bayern’s debut Dayot Upamecano appeared to have fouled twice in the final moments but referee Marco Fritz signaled to continue the game. The video referee also considered his decision to be correct even though it was clear that the French defender had come in contact with his compatriot Marcus Thurem on both occasions.
Mönchenglbach was given the lead in the 10th minute by Alessen Plei but Robert Lewandowski leveled Bayern in the 42nd minute.
