Citizens of Afghanistan can now travel to India only on e-Visa: Government

Afghanistan Crisis: All Afghan citizens will now be able to visit India only on e-visa. This announcement has been made by the Union Home Ministry on Monday. After the Taliban’s control over Afghanistan, the decision has been taken keeping in mind the security situation. A statement issued by the ministry said, “In view of the security situation in Afghanistan, all Afghan nationals should henceforth travel to India only on e-visa.”

Union Minister Hardeep Puri said that now a total of 626 people, out of which 228 are citizens of India, have been evacuated from Afghanistan. Of these people, 77 are Sikhs living in Afghanistan. He told that the people working in the Indian embassy are not included in this number. India had earlier announced that it would facilitate coming to India for those who want to leave Afghanistan. In this, priority will be given to the Hindus and Sikhs of Afghanistan.

Significantly, since the withdrawal of American troops, the Taliban was continuously strengthening its hold on Afghanistan. He was continuously capturing many provinces, on Sunday night, the fighters of this terrorist organization also took control of the capital Kabul. After the Taliban’s control over Afghanistan, there is an atmosphere of fear among the people. Afghans are afraid that like the previous Taliban rule, this time too people, especially women, will be treated ‘harsh’. During the Taliban regime from 1996 to 2001, the old memories of the barbarisms like public flogging, stadium-crossings and stone-pelting during adultery are still fresh in the minds of the people.
