Flood worsens in Assam, around 1.33 lakh people affected

Over 1.33 lakh people, including over 39,000 children, were affected and over 7,584 hectares of cropland inundated in Assam as the flood situation worsened in 11 districts on Friday. Officials gave this information. According to an Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) official, the five worst-affected districts are Bongaigaon (63,891 people affected), Dhemaji (31,500), Majuli (13,239), Dibrugarh (10,697) and Chirang (10,634).
According to ASDMA, 243 villages were affected and 74 relief camps have been opened to help the flood affected.

The ASDMA bulletin said that several roads, bridges, embankments, culverts and other infrastructure have been damaged due to flood waters in several districts.
