Bombay High Court dismissed the petition of former Police Commissioner Paramvir Singh

Said- we can not decide

The Bombay High Court on Thursday dismissed the petition of former Mumbai Police Commissioner Paramvir Singh. The court of Paramvir Singh has dismissed that petition. In which he challenged the preliminary inquiry started against him by the Maharashtra government. Dismissing the petition, a division bench of Justices SS Shinde and NJ Jamdar said that the relief sought by Singh can be decided by the Central Administrative Tribunal as it is a matter of service. Describing the petition as non-maintainable, the court has asked to approach the appropriate forum.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau was granted permission from the state government to conduct an inquiry against Singh on corruption charges. Actually this matter came to the fore after a letter written by Mumbai Police Inspector Anoop Dangi to the Maharashtra government. Dange had made serious allegations of corruption against Paramvir Singh. In a letter to the government, Dange had said that the former Mumbai Police Commissioner had demanded money to reinstate him in the Mumbai Police during his suspension.

Former Mumbai commissioner Paramvir Singh has been fined Rs 25,000. The head of the one-member investigation team probing the recovery case and former Bombay High Court Justice Kailas Uttamchand Chandiwal has imposed this fine on Parambir Singh. He is accused that despite being called several times, he did not appear before the committee. Giving one last chance to Parambir, the inquiry committee has asked him to appear before him on time, otherwise strict action can be taken against him.
