India overtakes China in vaccination, vaccines given in 1 day equal to the population of Australia

On September 17, the 71st birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a new record was set for vaccination against COVID in the country. Giving a big boost to the vaccination campaign, a record has been set by giving more than 2.5 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccine. According to the data available on the Co-Win portal, the total dose administered so far in the country crossed the figure of 79.25 crores at 10 pm. Before India, China claimed the record for the highest number of COVID vaccinations in a day. He had administered 2.474 crore vaccines in a day. This record was made on 24 June 2021. But on September 17, India has made a record more than 2.5 crore vaccines, setting a new record. India vaccinated equal to the population of Australia in one day. The population of Australia is close to 2.56 million and almost this much COVID vaccine was applied in India on 17 September 2021. This is more than the population of 123 countries. Earlier on August 31, 1.35 crore vaccines were administered on August 31. Whereas on September 6, 1.14 crore vaccine doses were administered. The Prime Minister tweeted, ‘Every Indian will be proud of the record number of vaccinations done today. I commend our doctors, innovators, administrators, nurses, healthcare and all frontline workers for making the vaccination campaign a success. Keep promoting vaccination to defeat COVID-19.

Karnataka provided the highest number of 26.9 lakh doses in the country, while Bihar provided over 26.6 lakh doses. At the same time, more than 24.8 lakh doses were given in Uttar Pradesh, more than 23.7 lakh doses in Madhya Pradesh and more than 20.4 lakh doses in Gujarat.

It took 85 days for India to reach the 100 million vaccination mark. After this, the country reached the figure of 20 crores in the next 45 days and 30 crores after 29 days. At the same time, it took 24 days to reach the figure of 30 crores to 40 crores and after 20 days it reached the figure of 50 crores on 6th August. After 19 days, the country achieved the target of 60 crore figures and just 13 days after this, the target of 60 crore figures was achieved. According to the ministry, the target of immunization of 75 crore people was achieved on 13 September.
