31,923 new COVID-19 cases in India in last 24 hours, 18.4 percent more than yesterday

In the last 24 hours, 31,923 cases of corona (Covid-19) were reported in the country, taking the total number of cases to 33,563,421. On the other hand, if we talk about the active cases of corona, it has increased to 301,640. In the last 24 hours, 31,990 people were cured from Corona. Talking about the total number of people recovering from corona, it has increased to 32,815,731. 282 people died in the last 24 hours. At the same time, the total number of deaths has gone up to 446,050. There were 71,38,205 vaccinations in the last 24 hours. So far a total of 83,39,90,049 vaccinations have been done.

In case of death due to corona, the victim’s family will get a compensation of Rs 50,000. The Central Government gave this information by filing an affidavit in the Supreme Court. The central government said that this ex-gratia amount will continue in the future phases of the COVID-19 pandemic or till further notification. Compensation will also be given to the families of those deceased who were involved in COVID relief operations or were involved in preparatory activities. For this, the cause of death would need to be certified as COVID-19 as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Health. Compensation will be provided by the states from the State Disaster Response Fund.

According to the affidavit, the district administration will distribute the compensation. The Center has told about the compensation process. Accordingly, the families concerned shall submit their claims through a form issued by the state authority along with specified documents including death certificate. The certificate must have certified the cause of death as COVID-19. DDMA will ensure that the process of claim, verification, sanction and final payment of ex-gratia is through a robust yet simple and people-friendly process .All claims will be settled within 30 days of submission of required documents. Direct benefits linked to Aadhaar will be disbursed through transfer processes. There will be a committee at the district level for grievance redressal.

No death due to corona in Delhi for the fifth consecutive day
According to the data released in the country’s capital Delhi on Wednesday – 30 corona cases have been registered in the last 24 hours while no death due to corona infection was reported for the fifth consecutive day. The total death toll from Corona in Delhi so far is 25,085. With 30 cases reported in the last 24 hours, the total number of corona cases has reached 14,38,586. The corona infection rate here is 0.04 percent. The number of active corona patients in Delhi is 411, out of which there are 131 patients in home isolation. The rate of active corona patients is 0.028 percent while the recovery rate is 98.22 percent.
