Uttarakhand / Haridwar : Information related to branding of products given to farmers

A commerce festival was organized under the aegis of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dhanauri under the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi. Live telecast of capacity building program and business conference for FPOs/agriculturists and exporters organized by Agriculture and Food Processing Export Development Authority (APEDA), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India at Varanasi was shown in the program. In this program, the topic of making agricultural products of export relevant quality was discussed. Government assistance and policy formulation in export of agricultural products were also discussed. Basmati paddy, mango, honey, herbs, flowers and mushrooms are produced in Haridwar district. Basmati rice, herb and flower growers of the district were invited by the center to the program. Along with this, silent parents and mushroom growers were also invited. All of them were informed about the formation of Farmer Produce Association (FPO) and branding of the products. Scientist of the center Dr. Vinod Kumar discussed Basmati export, Dr. Neelkanth on export of animal products and Dr. Deepti Choudhary on exportable production of honey and mushroom. A large number of farmers participated on this occasion. In which farmers like Ajay Kumar, Mahavir Singh, Intere Ahmed, Dilshad, Saurabh, Mukesh, Hitesh, Rajkumar, Praveen Kumar, Rohit, Harpal Singh etc. were involved.
