Uttarakhand / Haridwar : Samples of 17 food items including milk, ghee, oil failed
Out of 54 food items taken from different places in Haridwar district, the reports of samples of 17 food items including milk, ghee, oil and fondant have failed. Between October 2020 and March 2021, samples of 54 food items were filled by the District Food Security Department. In this, samples of many well-known companies have also been found to be unsuccessful. Now the Food Safety Department has started preparing to take action against these traders.
The District Food Security Department had filled samples of more than 54 food items between October 2020 and March 2021 from different places of the district including Haridwar, Roorkee, Laksar, Bhagwanpur. Out of which 54 samples have been tested. Out of which samples of 17 food items including many well-known companies have been found failed. According to the Food Safety Department, three of Ghee, two of Mustard Oil, three of Refined Oil, while watershed flour, soybean oil, maida, Kalakand, semolina, cow’s milk and buffalo’s milk, one each of Boondi Ladoo and Mixed Milk. Sample failed. District Food Safety Officer RS Pal said that food traders have been given time to present their case within 30 days by issuing notices as per the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006. If the appeal for re-investigation is not presented by the food trader within the said period, then a suit will be filed against him in the Haridwar court.
