Uttarakhand / Rishikesh : AIIMS Rishikesh leaves trauma chariot
Objective to reduce the death rate due to road accidents
Trauma Rath was flagged off by AIIMS Rishikesh with an aim to reduce the mortality rate during road accidents in Uttarakhand. This chariot will visit various medical colleges and hospitals of the state for a week to make health care workers aware of trauma therapy.
In addition to disasters, road accidents are increasing year after year in the hilly state of Uttarakhand, which has a heterogeneous geographical condition. A large number of people lose their lives every year in these road accidents. According to trauma experts, the first three hours are very important to save the life of the injured person during road accidents. In such a situation, it is necessary that the health care workers including the general public should have adequate experience in the intensive techniques of saving the life of the injured person during the accident and timely treatment. To realize these objectives, AIIMS Rishikesh has conducted a week-long state-level program. As part of this week-long campaign, on Monday, AIIMS Medical Superintendent Professor Ashwani Kumar Dalal, HOD Professor Qamar Azam of Trauma Department and Jaya Chaturvedi, Head Professor of Gynecology, jointly flagged off the trauma chariot of AIIMS. In-charge of Trauma Rath Dr. Ajay Kumar and Dr. Madhur Uniyal informed that this week-long mega program is being jointly conducted by AIIMS Rishikesh and Medical Education Department of the State Government. Trauma experts and doctors present in the trauma chariot will reach various medical colleges and hospitals in the state to make health care workers and medical students aware of trauma and train them in trauma therapy. He said that on the initiative of AIIMS Rishikesh, medical colleges and medical institutions across the state have come on one platform in this matter. The main objective of the program is to reduce the death rate due to road accidents in the state.
