Shardul included in place of Akshar in Indian team, BCCI announced
The All India Senior Selection Committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has named Shardul Thakur in the main squad for the ICC T20 World Cup after discussing with the team management. All-rounder Axar Patel, who was part of the 15-man squad, is now on the stand-bys list.
The Indian squad for the T20 World Cup is as follows :
Virat Kohli (capt), Rohit Sharma (vice-captain), Lokesh Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wk), Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Rahul Chahar, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shardul Thakur, Varun Chakravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami.
Standby players : Shreyas Iyer, Deepak Chahar and Axar Patel
Some cricketers have been asked to stay in the bio bubble of the team in Dubai and help the Indian team in its preparations. These players include Avesh Khan, Umran Malik, Harshal Patel, Lukman Meriwala, Venkatesh Iyer, Karan Sharma, Shahbaz Ahmed and K. Including Gautam.
