A massive fire broke out in the district hospital of Ahmednagar in Maharashtra on Saturday morning. 11 people have lost their lives due to the fire in the ICU of the hospital. Several fire tenders extinguished the fire together. Here, the patients admitted in the hospital had to be shifted to another place. During this, the fire extinguishers kept in the hospital failed to douse the fire, which escalated the fire.

The fire started around 11.30 am on Saturday. When the fire broke out, 20 people were present in the ICU ward. There were also many patients in the ICU who were on ventilators. Ward boys, nurses and doctors of the hospital shifted all the patients to the safe ward. The ward where the fire broke out is right in the middle of the hospital.

Efforts to control the fire continue
When the fire started, an attempt was made to douse it with the fire extinguisher of the hospital, but it was unsuccessful. After this, vehicles of Ahmednagar Municipal Corporation and MIDC fire department reached the spot.

According to the latest information, the efforts to control the fire are in the final stages. Fire brigade personnel, policemen and hospital management people are engaged in relief and rescue work on the spot. Preliminary estimate that the fire started due to short circuit. However it has not been confirmed yet.

Announcement of giving Rs 5 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased
Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has condoled the incident. He has also ordered an inquiry into the incident. At the same time, State Health Minister Rajesh Tope has announced Rs 5 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased. The DC has been ordered to investigate the incident and submit a report in a week.

A fire broke out in the COVID Hospital on the third floor of a mall in Bhandup area of ​​Mumbai at around 12 pm. 10 people died in the accident.

18 people died in Gujarat’s COVID Hospital
A massive fire broke out in the Patel Welfare COVID Hospital in Bharuch in Gujarat during the night time 6 months ago. So far 18 people have died in the accident. These included 16 patients and 2 staff nurses. There were 50 more patients admitted in the four-storey hospital. The hospital is on Bharuch-Jambusar Highway. 8 patients died in Ahmedabad hospital
A year ago, eight patients died in a fire at COVID Hospital in Navrangpura area of ​​Ahmedabad. Of these, 5 were men and 3 were women. According to the report, all died due to inhalation of carbon monoxide. The fire started on the fourth floor of the hospital. The police had detained Bharat Mahant and an employee of the hospital in this case.
