South Africa lost even after winning, beat ENG by 10 runs; England-Australia reached the semi-finals

South Africa beat England by 10 runs in Super-12 match. After losing the toss, South Africa batted well and scored 189 runs for the loss of 2 wickets. Raisey van der Dussen top-scorer 94*, while Aiden Markram also played an unbeaten 52 not out. Chasing a target of 190 runs, England could only make 179/8 and lost.

Thrill of the last over
England needed 14 runs in the last over, but Kagiso Rabada did not allow the team’s victory to be possible. On the first ball, Rabada dismissed Chris Woakes (7), Captain Morgan (17) on the second ball and Chris Jordan (0) on the third ball and completed a hat-trick. Rabada spent only 3 runs off the last three balls. Rabada became the first bowler for SA to take a hat-trick in the T20 World Cup.

England could have won
Chasing the target, England started with a bang. The team’s first wicket fell in the sixth over in the form of Jos Buttler (26). Enrique Nortya brought this success to SA. In the very next over, Tabrez Shamsi took the wicket of Jonny Bairstow (1). Moeen Ali and David Malan added 56 runs in 36 balls for the third wicket. Moeen was continuously hitting big shots. Shamsi put the brakes on his innings. Moeen Ali (37) returned to the pavilion after scoring runs. ENG’s fourth and fifth Dwayne Pretorius dismissed David Malan (33) and Liam Livingston (28). Looking at the manner in which ENG was playing, the team was considered the favorite of the win, but Rabada’s hat-trick changed the picture of the entire match.

Australia won
In the match, South Africa had set a target of 190 runs in front of England, but the team had to restrict ENG to a score of 131 to secure a place in the semi-finals. But ENG did not allow this to happen. Morgan & Co crossed the 131-run mark in 15.2 overs. With this, the tournament ended for the African team and in Group-1, apart from England, Australia’s team was successful in getting the semi-final ticket. Australia was successful in making the semi-finals in the T20 World Cup after 2012.

Roy off the field
On the very first ball of the fifth over, Jason Roy stumbled out of the ground due to a hamstring injury. Roy’s injury was so serious that he could not even walk properly. Tears were also seen in his eyes in the dug-out. ENG’s team has already made it to the semi-finals, so Roy’s injury does not bode well for Morgan & Co.
