AB de Villiers retires from cricket, ends his journey with RCB in IPL

37-year-old AB de Villiers announced his retirement from all forms of cricket by posting a long message on social media. As much as de Villiers won the hearts of people with his game, he made a place in the hearts of people with his friendly attitude. He took a lot of news about the bowlers of the opposing teams. Despite this, the opposition teams also have a long list of their fans. Such is his special friend and fan, the captain of the Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli. De Villiers and Kohli’s friendship is well known. Both have been playing for IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for a long time. Therefore, Kohli was also hurt by saying goodbye to the game of ‘Mr 360 Degree’ of cricket.
Virat tweeted on the retirement of his best friend de Villiers, “This is heartbreaking news for me. But I know that as always you have made the best decision for yourself and your family. I will always love you. The best player of our time and the most inspirational person I have met. You should be really proud of what you have done for cricket and RCB my brother. Our relationship is beyond sports and will always be so.”

Kohli further wrote, “You (de Villiers) have given your everything to RCB. I know it. Words can’t describe what you mean to RCB and me. Chinnaswamy Stadium will miss your encouragement and I will miss not being able to play with you anymore. I love you and will always be your number 1 fan. Greatest of all time AB de Villiers.”
De Villiers also responded to this emotional post of Virat, he wrote – Love you too, my brother.

De Villiers has retired from all forms of cricket. This means that he will not play IPL next year either. After announcing his retirement, he also thanked the entire team of Royal Challengers Bangalore and Virat Kohli. He wrote, “I have spent a long time playing for RCB. This year I have completed 11 years for the franchise and now it is very sad to leave the boys. Of course, it took a long time to reach this decision, but after much thought and understanding, I have decided to retire and spend time with my family.”
