Uttar Pradesh : Soldiers who have completed 16 years of service will now get the salary of Inspector’s grade, Allahabad High Court ordered

A good news for the constables working in Uttar Pradesh Police for 16 years has come from Allahabad High Court. The Allahabad High Court has passed a relief order for the constables selected in the state on or before 1998 and who have completed 16 years of service. The High Court has ordered the constables who are in service before 1998, to pay the second promotion pay scale grade pay of Rs 4200 to the inspector, adding to their training time. The government has been directed to pass an order on this in eight weeks. Justice Saral Srivastava has given this order while disposing of the petition of constable Ramdutt Sharma and many others who reached the High Court from about a dozen districts of the state.
Senior advocates Vijay Gautam and Atipriya Gautam, appearing for the petitioners, argued that despite the earlier orders of the High Court and the orders of the government issued later, the department is not adding their training period service to the second promoted pay scale. While everyone is fully entitled to it. According to the case, the petitioner constables were appointed in the year 1998. But they were neither being given second pay scale nor their training period was being added to the service.
Advocate Gautam said that under the mandate issued by the state government on July 21, 2011, all those police personnel who have completed 16 years of service in the department, will be given second promotion pay scale grade pay of Rs 4200 by adding their training time service. The pay scale should be given to him.

In the petition filed in the Allahabad High Court, it was said that according to the principle of law on behalf of the High Court in the Lal Babu Shukla case, the job should be linked with the training of the petitioner constables. It was also said that in the mandate dated March 17, 2012 on behalf of the Additional Director General of Police, Headquarters, it has been said that in the executive force of the State Police, the grade pay of the constable post is two thousand, the chief constable’s grade pay is 2400 / – the grade pay of the inspector is 4200. /- and the grade pay of the inspector is 4600. It was said that all the petitioners have completed 16 years of satisfactory service. Therefore, they are entitled to get the grade pay of the post of Inspector Rs.4200/- including their training period of service. The court has disposed of the petition with the said order.
