Tikait furious over demand for cancellation of CAA-NRC, told Owaisi-BJP ‘uncle-nephew’ alliance

Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait has described AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and the Bharatiya Janata Party as an alliance of “uncle-nephew”. Bharatiya Kisan Sangh leader Rakesh Tikait was reacting to All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi’s demand to repeal the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC).
He said, “Owaisi and the BJP share a bond of ‘chacha-bhatija’. They shouldn’t be talking about this on TV. He can ask directly.”
Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday demanded repeal of CAA and NRC and warned that protesters will “turn roads into Shaheen Bagh” if both the laws are not scrapped.
Addressing a public meeting in UP’s Barabanki on Sunday, Owaisi said, “CAA is against the Constitution. If the BJP government doesn’t take back this law, we will hit the streets and another Shaheen Bagh will be built here.”
Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh has been the center of protest against CAA and NRC. The protest site, where hundreds of women had camped for several months to protest against the CAA. The Delhi Police had vacated this place in early 2020 due to the lockdown due to the Kovid-19 epidemic.
He said, “After the announcement of repeal of three agricultural laws, the Prime Minister had said that there was something lacking in his ‘tapasya’. It shows how big an actor our Prime Minister is.”
Owaisi said that the real penance was done by the farmers in their protests, during which around 750 of them died.
