Rajasthan Royals retained captain Sanju Samson for Rs 14 crore

Ahead of the mega auction of the 15th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022), Rajasthan Royals has announced to retain captain Sanju Samson at an annual salary of Rs 14 crore.
Sources in the Rajasthan Royals (RR) camp confirmed to ANI that Sanju Samson has indeed been retained by the franchise. The source said, “Yes, Sanju Samson has been retained. We will reveal other players in the coming days.”
Samson has been a part of the franchise for the past few years and with the last season he was given the command of the team. The captaincy turned out to be highly suited to Samson’s game, leading to the best season of his career in the IPL.
The Royals team can now retain three more players. It is reported that these three players can be from Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jofra Archer and Liam Livingstone.
Retention rules
For eight franchises, they cannot retain more than three Indians (capped/uncapped) as per the laid down rule. They cannot retain more than two foreign players and more than two uncapped Indian players.
