Devasthanam board dissolved, fearing of defeat in elections, Dhami government of Uttarakhand bowed before the demand of saints and saints

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has reversed the decision of former Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat. They have dissolved the Devasthanam Board. This board was being opposed for a long time and the pilgrimage priests were agitating on the demand to dissolve it. It is believed that Trivendra Singh Rawat’s chair had gone away due to the displeasure of the saints.

The Devasthanam Board was formed in January 2020 by the then Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat. Through the formation of this board, the control of 51 temples came to the state government. Kedarnath, Gangotri, Yamunotri and Badrinath are the Char Dhams in Uttarakhand. The control of these four Dhams had also come to the government. Since then, the pilgrimage priests were adamant on the demand to withdraw this decision.

In July this year, Pushkar Singh Dhami was made the Chief Minister. He had formed a committee on the demand of the pilgrimage priests and promised to take a decision on the basis of its report. Chief Minister Dhami had promised to take a decision by October 30, but it has been delayed by a month.

The Congress termed the decision to dissolve the Devasthanam Board as a victory for the public. Also raised questions on the government. Said that the arrogance of the government, immersed in the arrogance of power, has been shattered in front of the people’s struggle. On Tuesday morning, Congress state president Ganesh Godiyal said that this is the victory of the people. The struggle of the pilgrims is a victory.

Congress was opposing the formation of this board from day one. Godiyal said that it should be accepted that the government has withdrawn the decision on the basis of public sentiments. Rather the fact is that the BJP has taken this decision out of fear of elections. People understand everything. This arrogance of power has been shattered. All the pilgrim priests have victory in their struggle. Congress will always struggle on issues related to public and state interest.

Leader of Opposition Pritam Singh said that even when the Devasthanam Board bill was being moved in the assembly, the Congress had protested even then. The government was warned not to impose arbitrariness on the pilgrim priest. Take any decision only after taking opinion from all the parties related to the pilgrimage sites. But the government, immersed in the arrogance of a thumping majority, did not listen to anyone. Today the decision to dissolve the board is being made historic. So what should be considered the decision to create this board?
