Joint Kisan Morcha meeting on Singhu border today, further strategy will be considered

A meeting of farmers’ organizations is going to be held at Singhu border at 11 am today. Before the meeting, the farmer leaders said that the government is not serious about talks. On December 4, farmers’ organizations had formed a committee of five members, but in the last two days, there was no invitation for talks with the government. There is also a hearing in the Supreme Court today regarding the issue of clearing the road. The question is, will he return home now?
The date has changed on the calendar but the issue of farmers’ return home is still stuck. Farmers are standing on the roads of Singhu border, Ghazipur border and Tikri border, but the way ahead is not visible. Yesterday, farmer leaders came in front of the media and said that the government is not serious about the solution. In fact, in the meeting held on December 4, the farmers had formed a committee of five members.

Where is the matter stuck?
- Farmers are demanding a law on MSP.
- The government is talking about the committee.
- There is a demand for compensation to the families of the deceased farmers.
- The Center said that it does not have the figures of the dead farmers.
- At the same time, there is a demand to withdraw the case registered against the farmers.
- The state government seems ready.
According to sources, the hope of talks with the government is still intact. In today’s meeting, farmer leaders will try to put more pressure on the government. Farmer leaders allege that the government is trying to defame the farmers’ movement.
Hearing in Supreme Court regarding roads
At the same time, today the Supreme Court will hear on the demand to open the roads of Delhi which were blocked due to the farmers’ agitation. On October 21, the court had directed the farmers’ organizations to hand over the copy of the petition. The court had also said that in the name of agitation, such a public road cannot be permanently closed. It has been almost a year since the movement and farmers had gathered at the border demanding the return of agricultural laws. The government has withdrawn all three agricultural laws. Notification has also been issued in this regard, but now farmers are still gathered at the border with new demands.
