Uttarakhand / Vikasnagar : Self-help groups’ picketing postponed on written assurance

In Vikasnagar tehsil, the women of self-help groups issued for the last 17 days were postponed after getting written assurance from the department. At the same time, the women associated with the groups also made it clear that if the demands are not met on time, they will be forced to again lead a violent movement.

In fact, let us tell you that these women associated with self-help groups have been staging day and night for the last seventeen days under the banner of SSG Matri Shakti Sangathan, regarding the three-point demands related to change in THR system, giving paused honorarium and selecting new groups. But these women also started a gradual fast for the last eight days. Due to which, after talking to the departmental officers on behalf of the administration, the women tried to end the dharna, but the women of the organization sitting on the dharna remained adamant on the demand of giving written assurance. On the other hand, Aam Aadmi Party, Congress and Jan Sansarsh Morcha also supported the women sitting on dharna day and night in the bitter cold, which gave strength to the women sitting on the dharna. On the other hand, yesterday, it was told to get written assurance from the department and action would be taken by December 13. On which today the women sitting on the dharna led by Jan Sangharsh Morcha President Raghunath Singh Negi adjourned the dharna and made it clear that they have got written assurance from the department, which has raised the hope of fulfilling the demand soon. Also said that if no concrete action is taken regarding the demands within the stipulated time, then the women of the organization will be forced to agitate again.
