Pakistan denied America, China said – real brother

Pakistan’s complaint has been that Joe Biden hasn’t even made a phone call to Prime Minister Imran Khan since assuming power in America.

Even the National Security Advisor of Pakistan, Moeed Yusuf has complained about this. But these complaints of Pakistan did not have any effect on America and US President Joe Biden has not spoken to Imran Khan so far.

Last month, when the US invited Pakistan to attend the Democracy Summit, it seemed that the ice in the relationship between the two countries would melt to some extent.

The Virtual Democracy Summit has been organized on 9 and 10 December under the leadership of America. Today is the last day of this summit. But Pakistan refused to attend this summit. This is when only India, Pakistan, Maldives and Nepal were called from South Asia. Bangladesh and Sri Lanka were not called in this.

Pakistan’s denial

The Biden administration has invited 110 countries to this summit. In this, China, Russia and Turkey have also not been invited, while Taiwan has been called. China had strongly objected to calling Taiwan. It is being said that Pakistan has decided not to attend this summit because of China. It is also being said that this stand of Pakistan in the midst of bad relations with America will further spoil bilateral relations.

Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry issued a press release after hours of consultation and clarified that it would not be involved. Earlier it was being said that Pakistan would send any of its ministers to President Biden, but ultimately decided not to participate in it.

A press release issued by Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said, “Our partnership with the US matters and we look forward to the expansion of bilateral relations between the two countries on the regional and international fronts.” We will keep in touch with the US on issues of democracy and human rights. We look forward to joining such initiatives in the future.”

‘Pakistan real brother’

Tweeting this statement of the Pakistani Foreign Ministry, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Chao Lijian wrote, “Pakistan refused to participate in the Democracy Summit. A real and strong brother!

It is clear from the remarks of the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry that China is happy with Pakistan’s refusal. In the report that has been published in the Pakistani media about this, it has also been said that China is the biggest reason behind Pakistan’s refusal.

Pakistan’s English newspaper Express Tribune has written, “There is a big reason, not to invite China to this summit. Given the kind of relationship between the two countries, Islamabad kept itself away from this summit. There is also a big reason that President Biden has neglected Pakistani PM Imran Khan, in such a situation it was not a very comfortable situation for Pakistan to join. Biden has not even spoken to Imran Khan since coming to power last year. But this invitation from America was being seen as an attempt to melt the ice on the relationship.

The Express Tribune wrote, “It is not clear whether China is behind this decision of Pakistan, but official sources have confirmed that Pakistan had contacted China in this matter.” Pakistan’s denial shows the extent to which bilateral relations with America are bad. Pakistan also fears that America may impose sanctions citing democracy and human rights.

There is also a reaction from the diplomats and journalists there on this decision of Pakistan. Abdul Basit, who was Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India, has tweeted, “Pakistan’s absence from the Democracy Summit seems to be a balanced and careful decision.” Retweeting this tweet of Basit, Pakistani journalist Kamran Yusuf wrote, ‘Aware? Looks like we’ve got ourselves in a corner!

In response to Kamran Yusuf’s tweet, Basit has written, “Pakistan-US relations are already lying in some corner. International relations is a process and not an event. We cannot create more trouble for ourselves. Now is the time to focus on the concrete things. We know what we are doing and hope for the best.

Abdul has also posted a video on Basit YouTube on this issue. In this video, Abdul Basit has defended Imran Khan’s decision not to attend the democracy summit. Abdul Basit says, “Look at this democracy summit, it seems that there is an anti-China campaign. Those who have been called and those who have not been called, the same shows.

“China and Russia were not called but Bangladesh and Turkey should have been called. Democracy does not mean being a western democracy. The funny thing is that Taiwan has also been called. Taiwan has been called by the US despite accepting the One China Policy. How can we expect Pakistan to go to the summit in which China is not present and Taiwan is there. The reason for calling us seems to be that America was trying to create a rift in the relations between Pakistan and China through this. Our decision is absolutely right.

Basit says, “It does not seem that Pakistan’s relations with America will get spoiled by not attending this summit. Relationships are already bad. Relations are not good by attending an event. The relationship between the two countries is not going to improve in one day. America is summiting democracy to serve its interests. Earlier there was a climate conference, in which Pakistan was not invited. America had tried to throw grain through the Democracy Summit. But we made the right decision. We are now convinced that there cannot be a strategic partnership between the two countries.

After the decision not to attend the Democracy Summit, on Thursday, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, while addressing the Islamabad Conclave 2021, said, “Pakistan does not want to take anyone’s side in the US-China ‘cold war’ but between the two Want to reduce stress.
