Uttar Pradesh / Varanasi : The administration made the Congress office pink, the party became ‘red’

The Congress party on Thursday protested against the development authority’s painting the party office located next to the Maidagin crossroads in Varanasi with pink colour. Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee vice-president Ashok Kumar Singh has written a letter to the District Development Authority expressing a strong protest against painting the Congress office located next to Maidagin crossroads in pink color without consent.
Kumar has said in the letter that the development authority Varanasi has painted the local Congress Party office in pink color without consent, which is against the law. He called the development authority necessary and justified to undo the party office in 36 hours.
He has written that if the development authority does not bring the Congress office back to its former condition in 36 hours, then the party will be bound to take legal action.
Significantly, in view of the arrival of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 12 and 13, the Varanasi Development Authority is getting the buildings on the road leading to Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple painted pink to show a uniformity in the city. Just two days ago, a mosque in Bulanala was also painted pink. However, after the objection of the Muslim community, the administration got it painted white again.
