Uttarakhand : Dhami’s PRO suspended for writing letter to cancel challan

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s public relations officer Nandan Singh Bisht, who allegedly wrote a letter to the Superintendent of Police of Uttarakhand’s Bageshwar district to cancel the challans of three vehicles, has been suspended and an inquiry has been ordered into the matter.

Official sources here said on Sunday that Bisht has been suspended with immediate effect and the Chief Minister’s Office has also ordered an inquiry in this regard.

On December 8, Bisht had reportedly written a letter to the Bageshwar Superintendent of Police on his letter head, citing the Chief Minister’s oral order, asking him to cancel the challans of three vehicles deducted on November 29.

The numbers of all three vehicles have also been given in the letter. After this letter issued by Bisht went viral on social media, the Chief Minister’s Office has issued an order banning the use of letter head of all the public relations officers, coordinators, chief coordinators posted there.

According to the order, now they will not be able to issue any government letter or instructions under their signature. The main opposition party Congress accused the challaned vehicles of illegal mining material and the government of giving shelter to the mining mafia.
