Meeting between the heads of state of China and Russia today, both countries will meet after the US does not invite

This is the second virtual meeting of this year between the two heads of state. Experts say that this meeting is a result of ideological differences between the superpowers.

China and Russia are strengthening ties

Russia and China are engaged in continuously strengthening their ties amid rising tensions between the West. However, these meetings between the two countries are focused only on trade and energy. Despite this, many countries are eyeing the growing closeness between Moscow and Beijing. Significantly, China and Russia share a similar foreign policy approach with respect to Iran, Syria and Venezuela.

Most of the eyes are on the White House on this meeting of Putin and Jinping. Indeed, US President Joe Biden recently warned Putin that if Russia attacked Ukraine, he would inflict severe economic damage with painful sanctions. On the other hand, America has also opposed China on human rights issues along with Uighurs.
