Two people, two different statements, fans were shocked… Virat right or Sourav Ganguly?

Discussions of dispute between two big players of the Indian cricket team have always come to the fore. Whether it is between Kapil Dev and Sunil Gavaskar, between Azhar-Sidhu or between Dhoni and Sehwag. On recent occasions, such news has come to the fore between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
After taking back the ODI captaincy from captain Virat Kohli, the discussions between these two players have increased a lot. Along with this, Virat Kohli has created a new controversy in the press conference held on Wednesday. Virat Kohli went against the statement of Board President Sourav Ganguly and made a statement that no one had forbidden him to leave the captaincy of T20. This statement of Virat Kohli is giving rise to a new dispute between the board and the captain.

After the Indian team’s defeat in the World Test Championship, questions started being raised on the leadership of Virat Kohli. Apart from the media, many former players had also raised many questions about Virat Kohli’s performance in ICC tournaments as captain. In the midst of all this, the pressure was increasing on the then captain of the Indian team, Virat Kohli, to continue in this post without any major victory.
The storm picked up in September 2021
Coach Ravi Shastri had also made it clear that the T20 World Cup played in the UAE in October would be his last tournament as a coach. Just a few hours after this news, captain Virat Kohli also resigned from the captaincy of the T20 team. Like Shastri, Kohli too had made a firm decision to step down from the captaincy after the T20 World Cup. Along with this, a demand from Virat Kohli’s board had also come to the fore. It is said that there was a demand to remove Rohit Sharma as the vice-captain of ODI and T20, but the board rejected it outright.
Board took the decision in December 2021
Before the South Africa tour, the selectors, taking a big decision, snatched the captaincy from Virat Kohli and handed it over to Rohit Sharma. Board of Control for Cricket in India President Sourav Ganguly gave a statement regarding this decision. In this statement, Sourav Ganguly said, ‘The board and selectors had requested Virat Kohli not to give up the T20 captaincy, which Virat did not accept and the selectors felt that it would not be appropriate to have two different captains in white ball cricket. That is why the captaincy is being handed over to Rohit Sharma in place of Virat.
