Bill passed in Lok Sabha to link Aadhaar-Voter ID before elections in 5 states
The government has taken a big step before the elections in five states next year. He introduced the Election Laws (Amendment) Bill in the Lok Sabha on Monday. Its purpose is to link Voter ID with Aadhar card. Law Minister Kiren Rijiju introduced it in the lower house for discussion on the bill. It has been passed by the Lok Sabha amidst heavy opposition from the opposition. The opposition has considerable objection to some provisions of the bill. He demanded that the bill be sent to the Standing Committee of Parliament. However, the government rejected these objections. Voting fraud will also be cracked down
Experts say that it will also crack down on bogus voting. It has been seen that only one person’s name is present in the voter list in the city and also in his village.
