Maharashtra / Mumbai : ‘Private part or belt, women understand’ Court taught a lesson to the passenger who did obscene acts in the bus

During the journey in the bus, a man standing next to the woman sitting on the seat was repeatedly touching her private part. When the woman interrupted him for this action, he said that my belt is on your shoulder. This is the case of the best bus called the second life line of Mumbai.
Perhaps that man did not know that women can easily understand the difference between good and bad touch. It can also tell that someone is touching them with the belt or is molesting the private part. In this case, the court has sentenced the accused Vinayak person to six months rigorous imprisonment with a fine of ten thousand rupees.
Woman going home with father
The incident happened to the woman in the year 2015 when she was traveling on BEST bus to go home with her father. The victim woman had caught the bus from Worli area of Mumbai. Disturbed by the man’s antics, the woman thrashed her, with the help of her father, brought her under the bus and then handed her over to the police.
Court sentenced 6 months
In this case, the court has sentenced the accused Vinayak person to six months rigorous imprisonment with a fine of ten thousand rupees. Out of this, compensation of seven thousand rupees has been given to the victim. The court has also reprimanded the lawyer of the accused. In fact, the counsel for the accused had said during his cross-examination in the court that if the woman felt that she was being molested, she should have changed her seat. The court said that this is a very dirty idea. After all, why should the victim ignore the injustice being done to him?
Daylight incident
According to the victim, on November 5, 2015, at 1.40 pm, she and her father had boarded the bus to go home. The accused was standing right next to the woman’s seat and was slowly getting closer. When the woman objected to this, she laughed and replied that he was fixing his belt. After this, the woman complained to her father as well as asked the driver and conductor to stop the bus and let it alight. After which the victim and her father took the accused to Dadar police station.
The trick of lack of evidence didn’t work
During the trial in the court, the defense counsel said that there is a lack of independent witnesses in this case. To which the court said that in this case no one has seen this act except the woman. The court also said that in a city like Mumbai, passengers are often in a hurry. No one is easily prepared to testify in such cases.
