Metro train travel also changed after Yellow Alert, DMRC’s guideline

In view of the increasing cases of Omicron in the capital, a yellow alert has been issued by the government. After this alert, now the metro has also changed its seating capacity. In a statement issued by Metro CPRO Anuj Dayal, it has been told that now the metro will run with only 50 percent seating capacity inside the train. No passenger will be allowed to travel standing in the metro.

In view of the same, entry into metro stations will be controlled by limiting the number of gates open for entry into the stations to ensure compliance of the guidelines.

In a statement issued by the metro, it has been told that under the guidelines, out of the total 712 gates of the metro, only 444 gates will be opened. Out of these, passengers will get entry. Now 9 flying squads of Metro are running on different routes and are also challaning such passengers who are not wearing masks in the train.

Delhi Metro has been appealing to its commuters to take precautions ever since the coronavirus infection started spreading in the country. An appeal has been made by the Metro that people should wear masks in public places and maintain physical distance so that the infection does not spread.

Government and private departments are asking people to follow the COVID protocol. Delhi Metro is also continuously making similar appeals to its passengers.
