Sarabjit Kaur of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won the post of Chandigarh Mayor by defeating Anju Katyal of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). During this, apart from 14 councilors of Aam Aadmi Party and 13 councilors of BJP, BJP MP from Chandigarh Kirron Kher cast his vote. After the counting of votes, BJP’s Sarabjit Kaur was declared the new mayor of Chandigarh. At the same time, due to invalid one vote of the Aam Aadmi Party, the claim of winning the post of mayor and the bet failed.
