Uttarakhand : Snowfall in Chakrata, Dhanaulti and Mussoorie, bad weather in most areas, cold wave outbreak

At the same time, there has been snowfall in Chakrata, Dhanaulti and Laltibba and Buransh Khanda of Mussoorie. Due to which the faces of the tourists who came here have blossomed. Tourists were waiting for snowfall here for a long time.
Snowfall on high peaks including Chardham
On Saturday, there has been a lot of snowfall in the Chardhams including Kedarnath, Badrinath. It is freezing cold in the Dham. Snowfall has also been reported at higher peaks. Due to which people are facing severe cold. The weather is bad in Yamunotri Valley, with snowfall in the higher Himalayan regions and light drizzle in the lower areas. Rain and snowfall continues in Chamoli district. Despite the snowfall in Auli, the process of arrival of tourists continues. Tourists are enjoying the snowfall.The road has been closed due to snowfall in the Radi area connecting Yamunotri Highway to Uttarkashi. NH machines are busy in removing snow. Due to heavy rains, many areas of Kotdwar have been waterlogged. People have become troubled due to water entering the houses. The problems have increased due to rain in the landslide zone between Kotdwar-Dugadda Highway.
Heavy snowfall is occurring in the high altitude areas of Mori and Purola blocks of Uttarkashi district. 42 villages of Govind Pashu Vihar area have been imprisoned in a white sheet of snow. Osla, Pavani, Dhatmir, Gangad, Taluka, Sewa, Satta, Bari villages of Harkidoon Valley have been cut off from the Tehsil headquarter Mori due to snowfall. There is heavy snowfall in areas like Sankri, Naitwar, Jarmola, Kedar Kantha, Devjani and Purola blocks, Dhadolli, Shikaru, Kamleshwar Mahadev etc. This snowfall happening in the first week of January is considered a boon for the apple crop.
Second snowfall of the season in Dhanaulti
The famous tourist places Dhanaulti, Kanatal and Surkanda area of Tehri district received second snowfall of this season on Saturday morning. It is snowing intermittently in Dhanaulti area since 10 am. However, a small number of tourists have been able to reach Dhanaulti and surrounding areas to witness snowfall. Along with snowfall, continuous rain continues in Dhanaulti area since morning. The movement of vehicles is normal on Chamba-Mussoorie road. Chamba-Mussoorie road has been closed for traffic in Kanatal and Kaddukhal due to snowfall. Two JCBs have been installed to clear the snow from the road.
Increase in cold in all areas
According to the bulletin issued by the Meteorological Center, rain is expected in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Tehri, Almora on Saturday. Snowfall may occur in all the districts in areas with an altitude of 2500 meters and above. Due to this, cold can increase in all areas.
Chance of hailstorm and lightning at some places
He said that hailstorm and lightning are expected at many places in Haridwar, Dehradun, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar. Apart from this, there is a possibility of hail and lightning at some places. On Saturday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 17 and the minimum temperature was 11 degrees.
Snow cover in Auli
The weather remained pleasant in tourist destination Auli on Friday. The sight of Auli, which was covered in snow due to the bright sunshine throughout the day, was worth seeing. With the clearing of the weather after the snowfall, it is expected that there will be a crowd of tourists in Auli on the weekend. However, tourists are reaching here less than expected.
