Jamia School teacher Ayesha Jameel selected for America’s prestigious Fulbright Award

It is with great pride that Ms. Ayesha Jameel, PGT (English), Syed Abid Hussain Senior Secondary School, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has been awarded the Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program (Fulbright TEA) of the U.S. Department of State.  has been selected to participate.

Ayesha will represent Jamia and India this month in Lowell, Massachusetts, USA. Ayesha will participate in seminars and conduct research that will enable her to enhance her teaching-learning tools. She will share new strategies for her students and fellow colleagues. These specialized seminars will share best practices related to teaching with a focus on 21st century teaching skills.

Aisha will also have the opportunity to participate in a variety of cultural and community activities, along with observing and co-teaching classes at the US school.

You. s. The Department of State has taken an initiative to promote girls’ education around the world, which will include Ayesha and her colleagues. The program is designed to focus on gender and education throughout academic seminars and workshops.

The Fulbright Program is the world’s largest and most diverse international educational exchange program. Its alumni include heads of state, judges, ambassadors, cabinet ministers, CEOs, university presidents, journalists, artists, scientists and teachers. These include Nobel Prize winners, Pulitzer Prize winners etc.

Ayesha expressed her gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor of Jamia, Prof. Najma Akhtar and the school principal, Dr. Zafar Ahmed Siddiqui, who believed in her and encouraged her to participate in this prestigious international forum.
