District Magistrate/District Election Officer Manuj Goyal said that extensive preparations have been made to conduct the General Assembly Election 2022 in a vigilance and peaceful manner in view of the Kovid guidelines. He said that the security system would be fully tight-lipped so that no incidents of any kind would happen during the elections. He also talked about following the model code of conduct literally. Said that this time the voting time has been done till 6 pm. Also, the facility of postal valet will be provided for the differently-abled and the voters above the age of eighty years.

Talking to reporters in the district office auditorium, District Magistrate Manuj Goyal said that till November 1, 2021, the total number of voters in the district was 188083, but after this, after the voter awareness programs run across the district under SVEEP, the total voters at present. The number is 192724. Said that this time there has also been a big increase in the number of young voters, which is very necessary for the strength of democracy. Giving details of snow-covered polling places under the district, he said that there are total 16 snow-covered polling stations in Kedarnath Vidhan Sabha, while the number of such polling stations in Rudraprayag Vidhan Sabha is 27. Sakhi polling stations, Divyang Jan polling places, total EVMs and VVs available in the district, selected by the District Magistrate for both the Legislative Assemblies including ideal polling places for Vidhan Sabha elections. Detail information was also given about pet machines and static surveillance, flying squad, video surveillance, video observation, election expenditure account and assistant expenditure observer teams constituted for election editing.
