Chhattisgarh : 6153 positive patients were found in 24 hours, 5 people died; 1859 cases in Raipur, 31 ITBP personnel also infected

In Chhattisgarh, 6153 positive patients of corona have been found in the last 24 hours, while 5 people have died. 1859 new cases have been found in the capital Raipur. 17 students and 5 teachers of Navodaya School in Kondagaon have been hit by Corona. Along with this, the report of 31 ITBP and one CRPF jawan has also come positive. Here in Kawardha, 12 students of Government Nursing College have become corona infected. Due to which the collector has sealed the surrounding area by making the college a containment zone. At the same time, night curfew has been imposed in Narayanpur from 10 am to 6 am.

Seeing the increasing cases of corona, the Raipur district administration has issued instructions to impose a fine of Rs 100 on those who roam without masks. Along with this, provision has also been made for legal action. Strict action will be taken even if you are not in home isolation. With the increasing cases of corona, the situation in Janjgir district has also become worrisome. Most of the frontline workers are falling prey to Corona. In Janjgir district hospital alone, 43 staff including 15 doctors have been infected in a week. Due to which the problem has increased from normal patients to COVID patients as well. The population of 17 lakhs of the district is dependent on this district hospital.

The death toll in the third wave of corona in Chhattisgarh is increasing continuously. On Friday, 5 people died, while on Thursday, seven patients died across the state. This is the first time during the third wave that so many deaths have been recorded in a day. The death audit report has revealed that like the second wave, this time the death toll due to breathlessness or lack of oxygen in the body is very less. Samples from the dead bodies of people who have died due to corona will be sent to Bhubaneswar for Omicron’s examination. This has been confirmed by the CHMO of Balaud. He has also sent a sample of a woman.

Dr. OP Sundrani, Head of the Critical Care Department at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Hospital said, “This time the nature of the virus has changed. During the second wave 90% of the people who reached the hospital felt lack of oxygen. His breath was short of breath. The amount of oxygen in the body had dropped. Right now such cases are coming almost nil. At present, 18 people are admitted in the Kovid ICU of the hospital, so 15 of them are those who were brought due to other diseases or accidents. When the test was done here, he came COVID-positive.

Dr. Sundrani said, in the deaths that took place in the past, cancer had spread all over the body of a patient. Two patients had brain haemorrhages while one patient was brought in due to a head injury in an accident. It is being told, most of the deaths so far have been due to old age, other serious diseases and very weak immunity. In the last 13 days, 35 patients of the state have lost their lives. Out of this, 15 people have lost their lives in Raipur district alone. On Thursday, two patients were from Durg and one each from Rajnandgaon, Raipur, Balodabazar, Korba and Janjgir-Champa.

Peak expected in 15-20 days
Dr. OP Sundrani said, at present, 5 thousand-6 thousand patients are getting daily in the state. With the speed with which patients are being received, it is likely that this wave will reach its peak in the next 15-20 days. It is feared that 20-25 thousand patients will start getting daily till the peak is reached. After that the intensity of the infection will decrease.

Scope of investigation increased, 6015 new patients
On Thursday, 63 thousand 221 samples were collected by increasing the scope of investigation in the state. During this, corona infection was confirmed in 6 thousand 15 new people. Accordingly, the daily infection rate was 9.51%. In Raipur, maximum 2 thousand 20 people have been found corona infected. A day earlier, more than 1700 patients were found from here.

Highest infection rate in Durg
It is being told that the maximum investigation is being done in Raipur. Accordingly, even after getting 2 thousand 20 patients, the infection rate here is only 17.44%. 673 new patients have been found in Durg. The infection rate there is said to be around 28%. 520 patients have been reported in Korba while the infection rate is being told around 22% and in Raigad around 23%. 454 new patients have been found in Raigarh and 459 in Bilaspur. Along with these, there are 17 districts where the infection rate is above the danger mark. In only 11 districts, the infection rate is less than 4%.
