Railway Minister sent a postman to the house of the injured in a train accident, then announced from the mosque

To deliver information to the injured in the Guwahati-Bikaner Rail Accident, the Railway Minister first sent a postman to his village. When the relatives could not be traced, an announcement was made from the mosque. After that the relatives could be contacted and the relatives have left the village to reach the injured. Although the talk of postman and mosque seems very strange in the age of mobile, but this is what happened in the train accident. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav himself intervened in the matter, after which the information reached.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav reached the spot on Friday morning after the Guwahati train accident. After inspecting the spot, he reached the hospital to see the injured. 36 injured are being treated in various hospitals, in which 23 injured are being treated at the Government Hospital, Jalpaiguri, while six are being treated at North Bengal Medical College and 7 are being treated at Mainaguri Hospital. When he was inquiring about the condition of the injured, then one of the injured said that he was going from Jaipur to Guwahati. His mobile is lost in the accident and he does not even remember the mobile number of his house. The family will be worried, so information should be sent to his family members. He told the name of his village and district.

Since Ashwini Vaishnav is the Minister of Railways as well as the Minister of Electronics and Information Technology. Therefore, immediately instructed the officials that with the help of the postal department, information should be sent to his house. The postal department immediately swung into action and a postman was sent to his home from the post office concerned. The postman also went to his locality, but could not find the family members. Came back and gave the information to the officials. At that time it was time for Friday prayers, the officials made an announcement from the mosque of that locality. The information was heard by the neighbors of the injured and told to the relatives. After this, the officials of the postal department reached the relatives and informed the family about the incident. According to officials, the relatives are reaching the hospital near the injured.

Compensation to the dead and injured
Railways has given compensation to the dead and injured in the train accident. Ministry’s ADG PIB Rajiv Jain said that the Ministry of Railways is giving Rs 5-5 lakh to the next of kin of the dead, Rs 1-1 lakh to 10 seriously injured and Rs 25-25 thousand to the injured. Railways is making arrangements to give compensation to the victims at the earliest.
