Uttarakhand / Almora : One accused arrested with 10 boxes of illicit liquor in Chaukhutia
In the upcoming assembly, the police have intensified the arrest of drug peddlers and smugglers. At the same time, Chaukhutia police has arrested a smuggler with 10 boxes of illicit liquor. The value of recovered liquor has been estimated at Rs.62 thousand. . In this sequence, police station Chaukhutia of Almora district launched a traffic checking campaign in the area. Meanwhile, during checking near Jajli, 10 boxes of illegal English liquor were recovered from the possession of Brijlal Verma resident of village Bhatoli Masi, driver of vehicle number UK 01 B 5563. On the spot, the police sealed the liquor and arrested the accused after taking action under the Excise and Epidemic Act. The vehicle used in the smuggling was seized.
