The central leadership believes that the BJP can form the government again by cutting the tickets of the disgruntled MLAs. In the survey, only the Modi wave of 2017 was considered as the key factor behind the victory of these MLAs. Apart from this, the non-performance of the MLAs in the last 5 years is also becoming the basis for cutting their tickets. In 2012 also, tickets of many MLAs were cut for the return of Khandudi government.

But in the recent survey, it is being told as a close contest between BJP and Congress. Meanwhile, the BJP has decided to field new candidates in several endangered assembly seats. On the accidental death of party MLAs, their relatives and any other face are likely to be given tickets. However, after the stampede in the Uttar Pradesh BJP, Uttarakhand BJP seems compelled to consider limiting the list of MLAs who have been cut tickets.
